Welcome to the
Biosphere
Project
Welcome to the Biosphere Project! We are a group of scientists, writers, naturalists, and educators dedicated to enhancing environmental education at all grade levels. We produce an array of printed and online resources designed
to help learners explore and understand basic biological, ecological and environmental concepts.
One such printed resource is The Biosphere: Protecting Our Global Environment, an introductory environmental science textbook for undergraduates and upper-level high school students. The fourth edition of The Biosphere is available from Kendall/Hunt publishing. In addition, the textbook is accompanied by an optional Interactive Web Component for instructors and students. Learn more about The Biosphere and the Interactive Web Component.
The Biosphere: Potecting Our Global Environment was recently chosen as a Flagship Title by Kendall/Hunt publishing. As a Flagship Title, The Biosphere will be featured at numerous events throughout the year. Read the press release (requires Acrobat Reader).
A core component of Miami University’s (Oxford, Ohio) Center for Environmental Education and Natural History (the Center), the Biosphere Project also provides books and materials for the Center’s other core components, the Hefner Zoology Museum and the GREEN Teachers Institute, a progressive series of professional development workshops for K-8 teachers.
A thing is right when it tends to preserve the
integrity, stability, and beauty
of the biotic community.
It is wrong when it tends otherwise.
