2007 Hefner Lecture
Scientist and author Dr. Ian Stirling will present the 2007 Hefner Lecture entitled "An Evening with Polar Bears" on Thursday, October 18, at 8pm in 100 Laws Hall. In his lecture, Stirling will discuss his research on these intriguing mammals, which spans four decades. Of particular focus will be polar bear ecology and behavior, as well as the conservation of polar marine mammals and ecosystems. His talk is especially timely given the documented shrinkage of the Arctic ice pack on which polar bears hunt their principle prey, seals.
