Welcome
Located on the main campus of Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), the Center for Environmental Education, Natural History and Conservation (the Center) is a comprehensive natural science and science education resource for diverse audiences. The Center enables learners of all ages—from primary students to undergraduates to retirees—to enhance their understanding of and appreciation for biodiversity, conservation and ecology. The Center is composed of three core components: The Hefner Zoology Museum, the GREEN Teachers Institute and the Biosphere Project.
Hefner Zoology Museum
The Hefner Zoology Museum uses exhibits, collections and specimens, and interactive programs to teach visitors of all ages about zoology and animal natural history.
GREEN Teachers Institute
The GREEN Teachers Institute is a series of professional development workshops for preK-12 educators. The GREEN Teachers Institute emphasizes natural science content and inquiry-based teaching methods.
Biosphere Project
The Biosphere Project produces an array of printed and online resources designed to help learners explore and understand basic biological, ecological and environmental concepts.
